Modern or Traditional

when I first land at Heathrow Airport a strong feeling about this country was deeply stamped into my mind. What is the countre, morden or traditional?
It maybe easy for you , but for me it is a new subject to study. Everything I met in the past week is so old ,old cities, old narrow road, old cars running on the flexual street, people go follow some old rules :lady first , go along the left side of the road. All of these are not the same as I thaught them before. In my opinion, the UK. one of the developed country has the third biggest airport----healthrow airport, get in the top 10 countries of their GDP ,she must be a quite modern place full of skyscraper, wide motoway.
When the time is up to 2 week from it we got here , I began to understand what is it. The British people keep a morden life style but follow some old tradition . They get some values and hold it until situtation is changed .
